Wish You Were Here

An old friend sent me...
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fear. Wish you were here...
I thought the lyrics were nice and asked what song they were from...Pink Floyd's, Wish You Were Here. I found this video clip of the song and it really moved me. I think a lot of people can relate to this song and the images that show while it is playing. I am grateful of my old friend for opening my eyes to music!

Family Time

Over the weekend a bunch of family was here for our Club of Attraction (COA) seminar. Yeah, we are different but I think it's good...we are all working on improving our lives and I am very grateful for my family. Thanks to my grandma and aunt we were able to accomplish and learn a lot. We did everything from affirmations, to yoga, to meditation, to nutrition/health, to art. I loved all the positive energy :)

Yesterday Cola and I were adventurous and took the bus to Salt Lake. I only remember riding a bus once in my life, back when I was probably 5 or 6. I was proud that we did something different and it was fun. From the bus stop we walked to the gateway, did some shopping, met mom for dinner, and saw Julie and Julia, which was a really good movie especially because it was half about blogging and it was just an overall good story.

Here is Cola waiting for the bus, we totally felt like all of those people you see waiting for the bus who step out into the street to see if it's coming

Happy Birthday To My Aunt

Happy birthday Cola!!! I am wishing her all the happiness, peace, joy, humor, and love. I am so grateful to have her as my aunt and that we are close. She has always been there for me and I feel that I can talk to her about anything. I have so many great memories with her...when she use to babysit Amie and me we had our daily morning routine, we would drive Dana to school listening to Sheryl Crow's Soak Up the Sun, watch Little House on the Prairie, learn how to speak English (or get a kick out of watching other people learn English) and some mornings we would give her a hard task and ask her to braid our hair. She always took great care of us, driving us to school, packing our lunches, picking us up, making us do our homework, and cooking us dinner. Thank you Cola!
When I was really little I use to love going to her house because she had colored cotton balls and I just thought that was the neatest thing ever. And when she would come visit us I always wanted her to sleep with me in my bed so I could read to her. I had a lot of fun visiting her, Dana, and grandma in Hawaii also!
She is an amazing person and I am so proud of everything she has accomplished through out her life. She has overcome some great trials in her life and I know it has only made her a stronger woman. The thing I love most about her is her will to do something and stick with it, she is very inspirational! She has completely turned her life around and I am so happy for her. Now all she needs to do is move to Utah!!
Happy birthday Cola, we are going to have fun this week! Love you lots!!

Disc Golf at Solitude

Yesterday I went with my mom, Dan, and his kids up to Solitude to play disc golf. Mom and I had never played before and I didn't know what to expect but it was fun. Although, I felt like a nerd because I was not good I was proud that we did something new! It was beautiful up there and it was fun to take the ski lift up and play as we made our way down the mountain. It was neat to see how far some people can throw their discs. The pros, (Dan and his kids) where really patient and helpful, which was nice. It was cool to be apart of one of their family activities, it made me wish I had least I like to think I would be more sports inclined.

Going Raw

I have decided to challenge myself and go raw for 30 days. I have grown to have a great appreciation for raw foodist. Hundreds of years ago all people ate was raw food...raw fruits and vegetable, seeds and nuts. I have decided to challenge myself for a few reasons: I am sick and tired of worrying about my weight and always trying to improve the way my body looks and although I am expecting to lose weight I am more excited to feel better both physically and mentally. I hate feeling weighed down and sluggish, I want to feel rejuvenated and I want glowing skin. I want to prove to myself that I can do it...mind over matter! I have done a lot of research on overall health and nutrition and I truly believe we should treat our bodies like temples. I know my mind and body have more potential and I want to see them both transform. I have made a new blog that I plan on using as my journal for the next 30 days, I will be posting on it daily. I haven't figured out how to link my raw blog to this blog so for now if you would like to journey with me for the next 30 days visit my blog,
Looking forward to it!

Hogel Zoo

Today Andrea, Dani, and I went to the zoo! It is a small but cute and nice zoo. We got to see a lot of animals, which is always great. The monkeys are usually always my favorite but this time a baby giraffe won me over. He was one week old today and probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. I wanted to take him home with me!

There were also baby meerkats that were adorable. There was even a pregnant elephant, the lady said she could have the baby any day now. The poor momma elephant...carrying around a 200lb baby inside of her, kept lifting up her feet to take some weight off.

The animal world is amazing! The 3 of us had a great time, it's always nice to get together :)

Tennesse or A Carolina

The other night I was talking to Amie and we got to talking about where she wants to go to school. She said she has been thinking about going to Tennessee, that she feels drawn there. I think it's great that she is thinking about where to transfer and even better that she is thinking of moving out of state (a better chance to visit new places)! She said she is also thinking about North or South Carolina. I was surprised she mentioned those states but also excited, I want to go to the east coast so bad!! Although, I plan on being far away in Eastern Europe next year we talked a little about me moving with her if she were to go to a Carolina state. It would be fun to move somewhere totally new and different and live together again! Exciting things are coming our way :) I am proud of her thinking outside of the box!

I know I have said it before....but I can't believe how fast time is going by! Sometimes, for just a split second I still feel like I am 18. So I was going through some old pictures and I found so many from 5 years ago and I started thinking of things that happened back in 2004. It was a good year full of the unexpected and possibilities, of new beginnings and some sad endings. It was the year...
*I turned 18
Went camping with friends in Newport for my 18th birthday

Went horse back riding in the Hollywood hills

*I graduated from Lancaster High School

*I fell in love with a boy named Zach

*I went on a cruise to Alaska with Andrea and the Parkhurst family

*I started college at AVC

*I went to the river with a bunch of family

*I went para selling for the first time in Catalina

*My hair was really long

*It was the year my cousin Brittany passed away
I have learned and experienced a lot in these 5 years but I think 2004 will always be an important year in my life. I wonder where the next 5 years will take me...I am excited!
