My Patience is Growing Thin

I have been patiently awaiting the news of what the next few years have in store for me. But I am getting to the point where I want to know now!! I like to know where my life is taking me and have things planned out and this not knowing is driving me a little crazy.
I am anxiously ready for the next step in my life. I feel that I have been in somewhat of a rut for awhile now and I want to change that.
No matter what the outcome may be when I finally do hear something. I feel it's time for me to be on my own and that in it's self is exciting!

The Weather Outside is Weather

Well, yesterday was the first snow fall of the season. I think we only had about 3 months of warm nice weather, I was hoping the snow would wait at least until after Halloween. It started snowing really hard while I was at work, I could see the big flakes falling as I stood at the desk and I must admit I felt like a little girl excited to see snow for the first time! When I got home there was hardly any snow on the ground but the mountains were covered. Although I didn't get pictures of the snow I took a few with the colorful leaves in the yard.

MuffI did get a picture of the mountains as I walked around the Gateway mall, which was a lot of fun!
It is very cold outside and it's only going to get colder :/

It's Fun to Dress Up

Last night both mom and I went to Halloween parties. Her and Dan went dressed as pirates to a work party. It was fun helping them get ready--and they looked so good in their pirate gear! We sprayed her hair black, did her make up, and accessorized her costume. Dan died his beard black and even let me apply some eyeliner to give him that Johnny Depp look.
I went to a really cool Halloween party in Salt Lake with Andrea, Yoho and my friend Norma. The house was incredible as it was close to the Capitol and overlooked the whole Salt Lake valley. It was a huge house and the place was packed.

I went dressed as a champagne bottle...a few people asked what I was.

It was good to see so many people dressed up!

The view, this picture is blurry but it's cool to see all the city lights.

Volunteering

For the last few weeks mom and I have been volunteering at a local food pantry. We go once a week for 2 hours and we like it. It's a really neat organization helping those in need. They have it set up where people can come in once a month and stock up on food. Every person who comes through the door gets an individual food bag and than a bigger family sized bag. We work in the back making the individual bags--it's usually something like this: 1 can of tomatoes, 1 can tuna, 1 can chili, 2 cans fruit, 2 cans vegetables, 1 can beans, 2-3 cans soup, and macaroni & cheese or noddles. Another job we do is sort the donated food that comes in. We like being volunteers there because it's organized- we know what we are doing each week, the people are friendly, and it's a work out!

The Joys of Fall

The mountains are full of color and the leaves are falling, the days have been warm and the nights are cool. I am enjoying the season. Mom and I decided to surround ourselves in falling leaves and fall color while we walked through Muller Park. It was beautiful.

Fall is also great because pomegranates are in season!! I love pomegranates, they are delicious. It's weird because last year was the first time I ate one. I had one the other night and it was super good + high in antioxidants.

The Office Wedding

I love The Office and Jim and Pam's wedding last week was so good and funny! I hope you all got a chance to watch it. I love the end when every one is dancing down the aisle to Forever, it's great!!! I watched the You Tube clip of the people who's wedding was really like that. I wanted to post The Office video clip on here but it was not working so click here to watch The Office dance off!!

Side note: You Tube is awesome

Autumn Sky

You never know when you might need your camera which is why I love having mine in my purse. As I was driving last night I witnessed an incredible sunset along with cool cloud formation. At every stop I was trying to get a good shot...it's a little difficult to take a picture when you are driving!

Blond vs. Brunette

I love being blond but I decided to dye my hair brown because being blond is such an upkeep. My ultimate goal is to be all natural. My roots were growing out so much and it just got to the point where I could not stand it anymore. So I figured I should dye my hair a light brown, as close to my natural color and then let it grow out--it will be less drastic. I had my hair dyed brown before and I did not really like it so I was a little skeptical this time but I like it a lot. I will always be a blonde at heart and one day I'll have blond hair again!

A Witchy Night

Tonight my mom and I went to Gardner Village to get in the spirit of Halloween. It use to be an old mill factory that has been turned into a restaurant. There are also a bunch of little decorative/home shops, which each shop use to be someone's house. I love all the shops...I get inspired and can't wait to furnish and decorate my first home! I love going there this time of year because their big theme is witches. There are witches and pumpkins everywhere. Mom and I had a good night. Enjoy the witchiness :)

Peace Corps Update

I received a letter from the Peace Corps today it was to inform me that I have been medically qualified for service, so I am now onto the next step....placement! I was freaking out there for a moment because at first my medical was incomplete, I was missing my Polio and Hepatitis B shot and something from my eye exam. I got that taken care of right away and faxed everything to the nurse. It was nice that I was able to speak directly to her to make sure I did everything correctly and that I was not missing anything else. I am relieved that my medical has been accepted and at how fast they were able to complete it. I feel like the ball is rolling again. Now, I am just waiting for that invitation!
Thank you everyone for you positive thoughts and support!!!

Moonlit Night

On Saturday night I went with Andrea and Yoho up to Sundance for the full moon ski lift ride. I was super excited, first because I love Sundance and second I love being outside when it's a full moon! I knew it was going to be freezing outside so I was prepared with my thermal, snowboarding jacket, gloves and blanket. I did bring a sweatshirt, scarf, and beanie just in case. I was glad to see a lot of people up there and as Andrea said, "it's a romantic ski lift ride"...indeed it was as I rode with her and Yoho (sorry guys) :) We got our hot chocolate right before getting on the lift and that was yummy. I was a little disappointed because the moon was covered by the clouds but it was still worth it as it was really bright out and I was in good company. I am really glad I went it was a fun experience!

Before we went up to Sundance we just hung out. I finally got to meet Dani and Greg's baby Tatum, she is really cute! It was good to see them. Baby Talia is so cute too...I had fun holding and watching her!

Brrrr

I cannot believe how fast the weather has changed. I am trying so hard to not think about how bad the next few long months of cold are going to suck but it's so hard when the cold goes to your bones. This is only the beginning and I am already complaining :/
So, I have decided to think of positive things I am excited about for the next few months...
1) Hot Chocolate. I LOVE hot chocolate and drink a lot of it in the winter
2) My snowboarding jacket (which I wear as my regular winter jacket). It's so warm and cute
3) My robe and slippers. I love wearing my robe in the mornings
4) My Santa lobster PJ's. They are adorable
5) Scarves and beanies. Scarves are fun, fashionable, and warm. Beanies keep my head warm
6) Being snug as a bug in bed. I usually have 5+ blankets on my bed in the winter
7) Waking up in the morning on the first day everything is covered in snow
8) Going for a walk at night as it's snowing
9) Having a white Christmas
10) Going to Temple Square. It's been tradition for the last 3 years
11) Trying new activities in the snow. I want to ski and snow shoe
12) Green bean casserole. It's so yummy. I need to make more of that this year
13) The holidays
Although it's only going to get colder it will be a good winter!

Be Thankful

Today the air was crisp which felt refreshing to breathe in. Today was also a great day...I felt immersed in love and not love from someone else but love for myself. I felt happy, energetic, and grateful. As I was walking this afternoon I was thinking about why I felt so happy? Today was just an ordinary day...nothing real exciting happened. Yeah, it's the first day of October and the weather is cooler and work was good and busy but that would not would not affect my mood/happiness. Then I started going through my day, I woke up at 5:00am and got ready. Mom my listens to positive meditation in the mornings and I was listening to the one she played this morning as I was doing my makeup and it was very uplifting and positive but I listen to a little of what she is listening to every morning. On my way to work I was listening to the radio and on this station it was kids day. They were talking about kids who have or who have battled cancer. They shared some stories of kids who have passed away due to cancer and some who have survived and how it has changed their lives. It was so sad, they played a recording of a young girl who had brain cancer and she was talking about getting a popcorn maker and how she loved popcorn, she passed away earlier this year. As I was listening to this my heart went out to these kids and their families. I have no idea how hard it must be for these families.
I am so grateful for my life and health. I have the choice to do what I want with my life. I take my health for granted. I take my life for granted. I am blessed and I have so much to be thankful for.
Thank you to all for your love and support!
I have come to conclude that if you start your day on a positive and grateful note you will have an awesome, love felt day!
